About Us

St. Paul’s Church, founded in 1860, is one of over one-hundred churches in the Episcopal Diocese of Newark.

What is the Episcopal Church? The Episcopal Church is a Christian church that traces its roots to the Church of England and is today part of the worldwide Anglican Communion – a family of churches with about 77 million members. The Diocese of Newark covers roughly the northern third of New Jersey.

Traditionally, Anglican churches have placed great value on the role of Scripture, Tradition and Reason in forming how we live our lives as faithful followers of Jesus Christ. This means that we take the Bible very seriously, with our understanding shaped by both how the Christian Church has interpreted it over the centuries and also by the use of our own minds.

Anglican churches are known for beautiful worship - and you will find that St. Paul’s is no exception. After the 11:00 AM service everyone is invited to the Parish Hall for coffee hour – a time to relax and talk. But, don’t worry – you don’t have to stay for an hour!

Kids are a very special part of our St. Paul’s family. We provide a free nursery and a church school during the 11:00AM service. In the church school our children learn about the Christian faith from a team of dedicated teachers. Our youth group has a wide range of activities all year long, with a special emphasis on serving people in the community - and just having fun.

St. Paul’s is a church that tries to faithfully follow the Gospel of Jesus Christ by loving God and loving our neighbor. We would love for you to come and see for yourself!
